Aunque técnicamente no ha pasado aún la primera década del siglo, musicalmente ya se puede considerar así. Acabamos de entrar en el 2010 (sí, 2010 ya, por si hay algún despistado, a mi a veces me pasa XD), así que he decidido hacer una especie de Metal Awards basándome en mi criterio y gusto, totalmente discutible.

Está claro que el Metal sigue siendo Europeo y sobre todo Germano-Escandinavo. Qué Finlandia sigue siendo el país con más potencial. Que Stratovarius y Arch Enemy tienen unas de las mejores formaciones que existen y que Arch Enemy y Children of Bodom han sido los dos grupos de la década.

Y no está mal recordar cierta información, como que se trata de una tradición de la cultura Celta, donde acababa su calendario y consideraban que ese último día del año, los espíritus volvían al mundo para llevarse a los vivos. Así que los celtas debían de hacerse pasar por muertos, adornando sus casas con animales muertos, sangre, esqueletos y demás, utilizando calabazas con forma de calavera si no se disponía de suficientes cráneos (era la época de la cosecha de calabazas y debía de ser lo más parecido que tenían), vistiéndose ellos mismos con pieles de animes y escondiéndose hasta que los espíritus se marchasen Con la cristianización de los pueblos Celtas y el siempre lema de la Iglesia Católica "si no puedes destruirlo, absórbelo", el Vaticano cristianizó esa fecha convirtiéndola en El Día de Todos los Santos (canonizados o no) siendo el día de las almas y difuntos. Esta vez los espíritus ya no volverían al mundo con malas intenciones si no a convivir un día en sus hogares con sus seres queridos (con especión de Jack O'Lantern, personaje que debió derivar del mito Celta acerca de las "oscuras" intenciones de los espíritus en ese día). Con la conquista de América y la inmigración, los Irlandeses y Escoceses que seguían aún la tradición Celta de forma cultural, la importaron a América, convirtiéndose en la fiesta de Halloween (All Hallow's Eve) que estamos acostumbrados a ver en el Cine. Como opinión personal, la gente se queja de que es una fiesta importada americana. Si como la fiesta actual que conocemos de niños disfrazando pidiendo "truco o trato", pero la raíz es de tradición Celta, por tanto indoeuropea, así que no veo el problema de celebrarlo ni de poner calabazas y más en España cuando tenemos raíces Celtas en Galicia y Asturias.
Parece ser que la demanda para el Wacken 2009 está más alta que nunca!
The run for the much sought-after tickets for the 20th anniversary of the cult festival & biggest Heavy Metal festival worldwide taking place in the far north from 30th July until 1st August has started.
The X-Mas tickets for the W:O:A 2009 which were limited to 10,000 were completely sold out within 24 hours and already the new mark is nearing 25,000.
